Authorities of Scottish Church College come up with ‘dress code’

KOLKATA: The authorities of Scottish Church College, one of the prestigious institutes in the city, have today come up with a ‘dress code’ for their students. The college has put up a notice defining the dress code for girls as well as the boy students.

The code includes below knee-length skirts for girls and a ban on any kind of ear rings or facial studs for boys. The code also imposes a ban on tee shirts with several kind of messages written on it and less than full-length trousers.

The notice put up on the notice board in the college has triggered a controversy. The academicians termed it as an ‘authoritarian attitude’ of the college authorities. The notice further adds that the dress code has to be followed by the students to maintain decorum and the propriety in college campus. The authority would take action if the code is violated.
