Aptech ties up with Indian Bank

IT trainer Aptech to aid economically weak students to get educational loans from Indian Bank.

CHENNAI: Aptech Limited, leading IT education provider, has announced a tie-up with Indian Bank for offering educational loans to economically weaker students to pursue various courses in the field of IT and Animation.

As per the MoU, a student would be able to get 90 per cent finance for the course fee and repay the principal only after six months of the course completion or getting employment, Aptech CEO and Managing Director Pramod Khera told reporters here on Wednesday.

Under the scheme, the students would be offered Aptech Certified Computer Program from Aptech Computer Education and Arena Animation Academy Specialist Program and Animation Engineering from Arena Animation, he added.

He said applicants should have a minimum mark of 60 per cent in tenth or Plus Two (50 per cent for SC/ST students) to avail the loan facility.

Khera said the loan would be available only for non-working individuals under the age of 25 years (relaxable by five years for SC/ST).

Indian Bank Chairman and Managing Director M S Sundara Rajan said the bank would charge 12.5 per cent interest for all educational loans, which was the "lowest offered in the country."
