DUBAI: India's leading private sector educational group Amity Institutions is launching short-term professional courses in Oman as part of its plans to set up academic and training infrastructure in the Gulf countries.

"With these courses, we will seek to give a boost to the current process of `Omanisation' happening in workplaces across the country," Aseem K Chauhan, Additional president and board member of Ritnand Balved Education Foundation, the umbrella organisation of the Amity Institutions, said.

Though the programmes would initially have Indians as teachers and trainers, they woul eventually employ Omanis, he said.
