Alliance of technical, academic institutes needed: Union Minister Harsh Vardhan

HYDERABAD: Union Minister for Science and Technology Harsh Vardhan today said there is need for grand alliance of technical and academic institutions to enhance the share of science and technology in development and growth of the country.

Addressing a press conference after the end of two-day DST Conclave 2015, the minister said possible collaboration of autonomous institutions of DST (Department of Science & Technology), IITs and IISc were discussed during the conclave.

It was highlighted that DST funding has been key driver for several important issues from fundamental research to applied research areas such as health, water, homeland security among others.
