Advanced training institute to meet industry needs
In an effort to meet the industry's demand for skilled workforce, a city-based educational trust has joined hands with Canada-based Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) to set up an institute for designing and delivering practical train...
Under the MOU entered between SNR Sons Charitable Trust and NAIT, the new institute 'Sri Ramakrishna Advance Training Institute' (SRATI) would offer world class training in practical skills to meet the industry needs both locally and globally, its Trustee R Venkatesalu told reporters here.
Sri Ramakrishna educational institutions, managed by the Trust, are producing graduates and post graduates in various disciplines and most of the students were well-placed in India and abroad through campus interviews.
The SNR-NAIT partnership would develop internationally recognised hands on technical and trade education at SRATI and bring in new programme standards to support local industries, faculty development and student exchanges, he said.
Saying that a consulting team from NAIT had visited the local industries to identify the opportunities, Venkatesalu said that the first stage of the training was to establish an advanced training for welding technicians, millwrights, pipe fitters, IT professionals and related disciplines.
The distinguishing feature of the new institute, starting from June, would be to provide extensive industrial skills with hands on practical training, he said.
