ADAG to set up university in Bhopal

MUMBAI: The Anil Ambani-controlled Reliance (ADAG) will set up a private university in Bhopal that will focus on information and communication technology (ICT) courses. The university will be established under the Madhya Pradesh State Act, and has received the letter of intent from the state government, the company made public on Thursday. The company will invest Rs 100 crore to create infrastructure. The state government has provided 110 acres for the university. Besides programmes in IT, it will also focus on programmes relevant to the economic development of MP.

The proposed university will be the second educational institution to be run by the ADA Group. It already manages Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. “The experience and expertise which the group has acquired by establishing the DA-IICT at Gandhinagar, gives us the confidence to move forward on this path and contribute to the nation’s knowledge bank,” said Anil Ambani, chairman, Reliance ADA Group.
