MUMBAI: Indian students account for more than half the growth in international students in New Zealand, with a 67 per cent increase in Indian enrollments for the 2014 academic year.
According to statement, more than 20,000 Indians studied at New Zealand campuses in 2014 and the growth curve has continued in 2015 with a 22 per cent increase year to date in total student visas issued to Indian nationals.
The country is witnessing very positive interest from the Indian market, as staggering growth of over 1200% in the last decade (2004 – 2014) shows, said the release. .
Grahame Morton, New Zealand High Commissioner to India said, “India is one of New Zealand’s key export education markets. Education is a key sector that helps create the people to people links that support good relations.”
As part of a string of new activities, Education New Zealand, (New Zealand’s government agency for international education) announced its multi-city education fair series which will take place later this month.
