Mumbai: EY Global has elevated two senior partners from the EY India practice to global leadership roles within the past week, highlighting the firm's rising influence within the global EY network at a time when consulting-led growth, cross-border deals and the firm's workforce in India are expanding at a rapid pace.

London-based Ram Sarvepalli, who earlier headed EY India's consulting business and was most recently EY Global vice chair-consulting, has been appointed deputy global managing partner-client service at EY.

In a separate move, EY has appointed Ajay Arora, the firm's M&A leader for EY India, as global M&A leader for its transactions and corporate finance practice under EY-Parthenon.

While Sarvepalli is credited with building EY India's consulting and technology consulting practices into the firm's largest service line and a market leader before transitioning to a global consulting role, Arora has played a pivotal role in keeping EY India at the top of M&A league tables by deal volume over the past five years.

Commenting on Arora's appointment, Rajiv Memani, chairman and CEO of EY India, said, "Ajay's appointment comes at a time when India is opening up further to global capital flows, with both inbound and outbound M&A activity accelerating. Ajay's extensive cross-border transaction experience will further strengthen our integrated M&A and deal advisory capabilities for clients in India and globally."
