The Hyderabad office, which currently has 180 highly specialised finance tax and systems development professionals, will serve the firm's Indian as well as global clients, the firm's chairman and CEO G Brint Ryan said.
"Our client support centre in India will serve as a launch pad for expanding the firm's global tax offerings to support emerging markets in the region," Ryan told reporters.
The firm has great hopes on the proposed Goods and Services Tax to acquire new clients in India, he said.
"GST proposal is coming to India. We have great expertise in GST. We can play a key role for our clients to make smooth transition to GST regime," he said.
According to him, the new facility in Hyderabad will increase its headcount to 220 in the near term and has additional capacity for up to 370 employees.
Ryan is a Dallas-based global tax services firm, with the largest indirect tax practice in North America and the seventh largest corporate tax practice in the United States.
Ryan's multi-disciplinary team of more than 1,600 professionals and associates serve over 9,000 clients in 40 countries, including many of the world's most prominent global 5,000 companies.
