MUMBAI: The former Price Waterhouse auditor S Gopalakrishnan, who has been behind bars for his alleged involvement in the over-Rs 7,000-crore Satyam fraud case, was granted bail by the High Court of Andhra Pradesh on Friday. The high court granted conditional bail to the former senior partner of Price Waterhouse and former internal auditor of Satyam, VS Prabhakar Gupta on health grounds. The court asked them not to leave India.

Mr Gopalakrishnan’s bail comes 17 months after he was jailed along with Srinivas Talluri, another auditor with Price Waterhouse. Mr Talluri had been granted bail in February, 2010. The two auditors had been arrested after Satyam Computer Services chairman B Ramalinga Raju confessed to have falsified the company accounts.

Investigations in to the over-Rs 7,000-crore fraud case are still continuing.
