QlikTech looking at major expansion in India

QlikTech, is mulling major investments in the country besides large-scale customer acquisitions

MUMBAI: Betting big on the Indian growth story, global business intelligence solutions provider, QlikTech, is mulling major investments in the country besides large-scale customer acquisitions, a top company official said.

"The Business Intelligence market is still untapped and there is an enormous opportunity lying here. Over the next 18-months, we plan to agressively grow the company in terms of more offices and workforce. Besides, we are looking at adding 50 new customers," QlikTech's Vice-President (International Markets), David Brierley, told PTI here today.

Apart from customer-acquisitions, the company also plans to set-up an R&D unit and double its workforce in the country, he said, without, however, divulging any details.

QlikTech already has over 250 customers in India. Globally, it has over 15,000 customers such as the Citi Group, Morgan Stanley, Kraft Foods, Carrefour, Symantec, Pfizer and Qualcomm, among others.

Headquartered in Pennsylvania with offices in over 100 countries, the company got listed on the NASDAQ in July this year after raising USD 120-million through an initial share sale.

In India, it operates its offices in Bangalore and Mumbai and plans to set up another in New Delhi by next month.
