Mercer appoints Nikhil Bhandare as Country Leader: Multinational Client Group for India

NEW DELHI: Mercer, a consulting company, has announced the appointment of Nikhil Bhandare as country leader – multinational client group (MCG) for India. He will be responsible for establishing, operating and growing Mercer’s business across MCG portfolio here.

He will report to Sunil Rana, partner and leader – global consulting practice and public sector (MCG ), IMETA (India, Middle East, Turkey and Africa) and they will enhance the company's commercial propositions as well as delivery capabilities aimed at supporting their client growth in IMETA.

Rana said, “This is in line with our commitment to the Indian market and our endeavor to provide comprehensive advice and solutions to clients by bringing an effective mix of local context and global best practices.”

He joins Mercer from Strategy &’ (formerly Booz & Company), based in Mumbai, where he led the firm's consumer and retail practice and was also the people director for the firm.

He brings with him experience having worked on a broad set of mandates such as growth strategy, go-to-market, cost transformation, organization transformation, sales productivity improvement, and operations improvement - across a variety of industries - FMCG, retail, airlines, financial services, hospitality, pharmaceuticals etc. His client engagements have taken him across growth as well as developed markets such as India, USA, China, Middle East etc.

Prior to Strategy&/ Booz, he was an investment banker in New York, with Merrill Lynch and Berenson & Company, advising clients on M&A and capital markets transactions. He has an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a BA, Economics from Yale University.
