MECON order book for FY07 reaches Rs 400 crore
Public sector designing and consultancy firm for the steel industry MECON Limited on Saturday said its order book for the current fiancial year has reached Rs 400-crore mark.
Speaking on the sidelines of annual general meeting of Indian Refractory Makers Association (IRMA) here, MECON Chairman and Managing Director D Rath said the company had been awarded contract for expansion of all SAIL plants.
MECON was also eyeing to bag contracts for steel plants being put up by private players like Jindal and Mittal, he said.
Referring to JSW Bengal Steel Plant which was coming up at Salboni in West Bengal, Rath said that MECON had expressed its interest. He, however, said that Jindal was yet to take a view on it.
On overseas projects, he said that MECON was looking at markets in Nigeria, Jordan, South Africa and the Middle East.
The total value of turnkey contracts executed by MECON had touched Rs 3,000 crore till date.
