JSA to merge with M&C Partners

J. Sagar Associates (JSA), one of the top three law firms in the country, is merging with Bangalore based M&C Partners which would strengthen its presence in South India.

NEW DELHI: J. Sagar Associates (JSA), one of the top three law firms in the country, is merging with Bangalore based M&C Partners which would strengthen its presence in South India. As a part of the deal, JSA will induct two founder partners of M&C Partners, Murali Ananthasivan and Vivek Chandy as its equity partners.

JSA currently has over 160 lawyers including 37 partners across India. It has two set of partners: equity partners who get a share of profits and have ownership interests, while retain partners get a fee from consultation.

JSA founder partner Jyoti Sagar said, "With this, we will be able to enhance our presence in southern India in the practice areas of corporate restructuring, real estate and dispute resolution thereby increasing the depth and breadth of the offerings to our existing and prospective clients."

JSA has a national presence and has offices in Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Its specialises both in corporate and litigation areas of work. M&C Partners has 18 lawyers including 3 partners. Its areas include corporate commercial, real estate and dispute resolution, among others.
