IITs revoke ban on big data company Crayon Data

Crayon Data was among the 31 companies that recently barred by the AIPC as they failed to honour their placement commitment to IIT students.

NEW DELHI: All IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology) Placement Committee (AIPC) has revoked the ban on big data company Crayon Data with offices in Singapore and India. Crayon Data was among the 31 companies that recently barred by the AIPC as they failed to honour their placement commitment to IIT students.

Big data company, which has received funding from Japanese conglomerate Mitsui & Co and Tata Group chairman emeritus Ratan Tata's investment, has taken the necessary steps to take on board the IIT students. A senior official part of the AIPC confirmed this over mail. Most of the students were from IIT Roorkee and they have been absorbed.

"Crayon Data India Pvt. Ltd. has taken necessary steps to accommodate IIT students, but unfortunately not updated us earlier. In view of their initiative for our students, it is hereby decided to revoke their name from the list of blacklisted companies with immediate effect," he said.

IITs had barred 31 companies as they had revoked offer letters or delayed the joining dates.
