ICSI elects CS Manish Gupta as President for 2023

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), the professional body of company secretaries, appointed Manish Gupta as its president for 2023. The body also appointed B Narasimhan as its vice-president for the year, said ICSI in a press release issued on Thursday.

Manish Gupta has been elected from Northern Region of ICSI. Gupta is also a registered insolvency professional and an empanelled arbitrator with the stock exchanges. Previously, Gupta was elected to the Northern India Regional Council of ICSI for two terms between 2011-14 and 2015-18.

Narasimhan on the other hand has been elected for second term for 2023-26. Narasimhan was first elected to the central council of ICSI in 2007 and was re-elected in 2011. Both were four year terms, the press release added.


ICSI regulates the company secretary(CS) professionals and it also has powers to initiate disciplinary proceedings against practicing company secretaries. It also provides guidance to the CS professionals on various compliance related laws including the Companies Act.
