Army, MTNL officials enroll for IIM-Lucknow's management programme
It was back to school for 46 senior officials of organisations like Army and MTNL as they got enrolled for IIM-Lucknow's international programme in management for executives.
The officials have been admitted to the one-year residential course, which was inaugurated today and will be conducted at the Noida campus of the institution.
Around 45 per cent of the students are from the IT and technical backgrounds while the rest belong to sectors such as telecom, power, banking, finance and defence.
The officials, who are selected for the IIM-Lucknow's first of its kind course, represent organisations like Defence Ministry, BSNL, NTPC, BHEL, Wipro, Satyam Computers, IBM Global Services, Bank of India and Tata Steel.
The course is specially designed for mid/senior level professionals to prepare them for leadership roles, IIM- Lucknow Director Devi Singh said, adding it attempts to impart business education that is grounded in Indian and international business environment.
The course offers specialisation in Finance and Economics, Marketing Strategy and Consulting as well as operations and technology management besides imparting strategic understanding of business which is rooted in practical skill development.
The international exposure of a term at McGill University will also provide students with the opportunity for an international learning experience to equip them with the knowledge and perspective relevant to current global business issues, Singh said.
