In the latest move, A&M appointed Mohit Khullar as managing director to lead its corporate finance practice in the country. Khullar, former MD of investment bank O3 Capital, will oversee the private equity, M&A and structured finance practices at A&M. Khullar also stints at Equirus Capital and Standard Chartered Bank.
A&M's strategy is to more than double the corporate finance practice to 40 specialised professionals in the next 24 months from the current 15, with a focus on core sectors such as healthcare, consumer, manufacturing and industrials.
A specialist in distress asset sale, A&M has been involved in marquee deals in the past. These include Tata Sons' $2.8 billion acquisition of Air India, ArcelorMittal's $6 billion buyout of Essar Steel, and Vedanta's acquisition of Electrosteel Steels. A&M also advised a consortium of JSW Steel & AION Partners on the Monnet Ispat & Energy acquisition.
