Advani & Co enters in 'Best Friend Practice' Agreement with Rambhaktaa Advisors
Mumbai-based arbitration and litigation law firm Advani & Co has entered in ‘best friend practice’ agreement with S Rambhaktaa Advisors.
“Advani & Co and S Ramaswamy will jointly advise clients on M&A, Private Equity (PE) investments and other corporate finance related matters,” said a senior person of Advani & Co who is privy to the development. “Under the agreement, S Ramaswamy will also direct its all litigation and dispute resolution related work to Mumbai-based firm.”
A ‘best friend practice’ is typically an agreement between two law firms to share clients and work which generally works on referral bases. Also, in another development, Shashank Garg, a former partner of Suri & Co is re-joining Advani & Co to head firm’s New Delhi office. Garg is re-joining the firm after 18 months.
“I want to focus more on dispute resolution and larger litigation in my new role,” said Shashank Garg. "Hiroo Advani supported me and was guiding me even when I was not with the firm, which was one of the reasons to take decision for the ‘home coming’."
Currently, Garg is special counsel for Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and Government of Uttar Pradesh in Supreme Court of India.
