PepsiCo launches first football ad campaign in India
PepsiCo launched its first football ad campaign in the country featuring Ranbir Kapoor to cash in on the gaining popularity of sport in India.
The company, which had earlier been associated with sports like cricket, has for the first time announced its association with football in India, the company said in a statement.
"Known for its commitment to youth passions like cricket, movies and music, Pepsi is launching its first football campaign in the country," it added.
The campaign kick-starts with a football themed ad film featuring Ranbir Kapoor, and will be followed by a series of initiatives over the year, the company said.
The campaign will be supported by a 360-degree approach including outdoor, consumer engagement and social media programmes, it added.
Commenting on the development, PepsiCo Beverages India Executive Director-Marketing Deepika Warrier said: "Football is gaining immense popularity in India and being a true youth soulmate, Pepsi is proud to be associated with the sport."
PepsiCo sells beverage brands like Pepsi, Mirinda, Slice and snacks brands like Uncle Chips, Lays and Cheetos in India.
