Beer baron Vijay Mallya has always been known for his larger-than-life lifestyle. It’s not surprising; therefore, that he doesn’t need any other brand ambassador for his businesses.
For his newest baby, Kingfisher Airlines, the fifty-year old businessman is the prime brand ambassador - and thousands of Kingfisher frequent fliers can now vouch for this.
Mr Mallya’s voice booming over the passenger address system saying ``Hello ladies and gentlemen, this is Vijay Mallya speaking. I welcome you onboard Kingfisher airlines....” is now a familiar event. The passengers are then treated to the equal of a royal walk down the aisle, as the Gucci-clad airline chief comes around shaking hands, making polite conversation, posing for pictures and even autographing their boarding cards.
Since, Mr Mallya uses the airline for most of his personal travel within the country; the airline’s crew is used to finding him on board almost two to three days a week.
