After IPL, it time for Indian promotions league. The event may be over, but the hangover is being felt across sports stores, with cricket merchandise doing brisk sales.
Twenty20 has emerged as a superior marketing format, with the sale of cricket gear and merchandise surging by about 40%.
The big players like Reebok, Adidas, BDM and Kookaburra are all in the game. "Never before have replica jerseys been so popular with the cricket crazy nation until SRK stood tall in his 12th-man jersey," says Reebok India MD Subhender Singh Prem.

The 40-50% average increase in cricket merchandise is the outcome of growing demand for IPL memorabilia, mainly jerseys. So in Kolkata and Mumbai, exclusive showrooms for cricket apparel and gear were opened by Reebok to cater to the new-found affection.
Message T-shirts for men, women and children and accessories are in demand.
