Emami ropes in Bipasha Basu as brand ambassador
While talks are on to rope in Malaika as the brand ambassador for Zandu Balm, FMCG firm Emami has signed up with Bipasha Basu to endorse the company's brands.
"Celebrity endorsements have always worked for us. It creates connect with the consumer that helps in instant brand awareness and recall," Emami, Director, Aditya Agarwal told PTI. The development was also confirmed by the actress's publicist.
Agarwal said Basu has been signed up for 2-3 years but which brands the celebrity will endorse is yet to be finalised.
According to industry analysts, Bipasha charges about Rs one crore per band endorsement for a period of two years. She currently endorses a host of brands including Dabur's Activ, Gili, Sugar Free and Dicitex Furnishing.
Emami is also in talks with Dabangg fame Malaika Arora Khan for its pain reliever 'Zandu Balm'.
Though the deal with Khan has not been finalised yet, the company has already started using 'Munni Badnam Hui' song for the product's promotion after Emami settled its dispute with Arbaaz Khan Productions.
Earlier this month, Emami had sent a legal notice to the production house, citing Copyright Infringement for the use of 'Zandu Balm' in Dabangg's song, which was amicably settled between the two parties last month.
Emami also has a host of other Bollywood celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Preity Zinta and Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni on board as endorsers for various brands including Boro Plus, Navratna hair oil, Fair & Handsome, and Sona Chandi Chywanprash.
