Bajrang Dal slams use of Ramayana clippings in ads
Bajrang Dal today burnt the effigy of Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Das Munshi to protest the use of Ramayana clippings in Mirinda's ads on Doordarshan and other channels.
Led by their state coordinator Niraj Kumar, over 300 Dal activists raised slogans against the UPA Government, maker of the beverage Pepsi and the minister and burnt their effigies at Digiana area of the city.
Terming the use of clippings from the sacred book as "sacrilegious," they also blocked Jammu-Pathankote highway for over half an hour.
"This type of cruel joke of portraying Lord Ram in bad light will not be tolerated" Kumar said and demanded that the government take action against those responsible for it.
