"Over the past ten years, TVS Motor and BMW Motorrad have forged a partnership built on shared values of quality, performance, and innovation. This successful collaboration has led to numerous achievements and highlights, solidifying the strong bond between the two companies. It has been the steppingstone for extending and expanding the partnership by the two companies in December 2021. In line with this, TVS Motor and BMW Motorrad is jointly developing new platforms and future technologies, including electric vehicles," TV said in a statement
TVS said that its Hosur plant will be a global manufacturing base for BMW CE02 electric two-wheeler.
The CE02 prototype was earlier unveiled by BMW Motorrad at Munich.
The CE02, which looks like something straight out of a sci-fi movie, comes with a minimalistic design.
Note that these specifications are of a concept model and the on-road model may have some design tweaks and changes in its specification.
TVS has earlier in August this year announced to invest Rs 3,900 crore over next 4-5 years to boost its green portfolio.
TVS recently launched a premium electric bike, the TVS X, at Rs 2.5 lakh. Its iQube Electric is said to be second highest selling electric scooter in India with about 10,000 monthly sales.
