Revenue from operations surged nearly 12-fold from ₹20.8 crore in FY25, while net profit rose from ₹55.5 lakh, according to regulatory filings by Tesla India Motors and Energy.
Vehicle sales contributed ₹214.69 crore to revenue during the year, while services generated ₹32.4 crore. In FY25, the company’s revenue came entirely from services-related operations, before vehicle sales started contributing from last fiscal year.
The strong financial performance was backed by Tesla expanding its presence in India following the opening of its first showroom in Mumbai in 2025. The company registered 346 vehicles between September 2025 and March 2026.
Sales momentum has since picked up, with registrations reaching 650 units in the first half of this fiscal, surpassing the entire previous fiscal year’s tally. Average monthly registrations rose from around 49 units during the initial launch phase to about 108 units.
Tesla also stepped up investments in its Indian operations. The company infused about ₹86 crore into the local unit in FY26, the filings showed.
Cash expenditure on property, plant and equipment and capital work-in-progress rose to ₹62.5 crore in FY26 from ₹1.2 crore in the previous fiscal, indicating a sharp increase in capital spending.
Separately, Musk showcased a new version of Tesla’s Roadster sports car in October. During a demonstration at a SpaceX facility in Texas, a prototype navigated an elevated curved track before briefly becoming airborne and landing safely, drawing comparisons with the concept of a flying car.
