As per the reports, a test mule of the Punch EV was sighted while it was being tested on roads.
The test version reportedly has new alloy wheels, a fake exhaust, but it does not have rear disc brakes. It also had a redesigned front fascia.
Carmakers often change a lot of design elements in the final version, which may entirely look different from the test mule.
It is expected that the Punch EV may have a redesigned interior as well, could sport a 7-inch infotainment system, and may offer a rotatry-style gear system. The instrument cluster could come with a new look as well.
Tata Punch EV is expected to compete with the MG Coment and Citroen C3. According to reports, it may be priced around Rs 12 lakh.
Tata Motors recently unveiled its new brand identity, TATA.ev, for its EV business.
With an investment plan of $2 billion, the carmaker looks to get 50% of its sales from green cars, compared to the current contribution of around 15%.
Tata Motors' EV portfolio comprises green versions of the flagship Nexon SUV, Tiago mini, Tigor sedan, and XPRES-T. The company has plans to launch electric versions of upcoming cars such as the Curvv and Sierra, while also looking at completely 'born electric' platforms such as the one on which the Avinya concept was showcased.
