Tata Nexon EV Max with 437 km range launched, priced Rs 17.74 lakh onwards
The affordable version, called Nexon EV Max XZ+, comes with a 3.3 kW charger option and is priced at Rs 17.74 lakh (ex-showroom) while the same model with 7.2 kW AC fast charger option will be sold at Rs 18.24 lakh (exshowroom).
"Keeping customer centricity at the core and dedicated to bringing in newer products at regular and quick intervals, we are elated to launch the new Nexon EV MAX – an SUV that offers all EV users MAX freedom to undertake regular and uninterrupted long distance travel," Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Head, Marketing, Sales and Service Strategy Vivek Srivatsa noted.
The SUV offers more range, more power, and faster charging while improving the overall driving efficiency, providing an uncompromised EV ownership experience, he added.

Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux with 3.3 kW is priced at Rs 18.74 lakh while with 7.2 kW AC fast charger it will cost Rs 19.24 lakh plus taxes.
Nexon EV Max boasts a 40.5 kWH battery, which is 33 percent larger than the 30.2 kWh of the standard Nexon EV. The new model claims an ARAI range of 437 km. ARAI refers to Automotive Research Association of India.
The Nexon EV Max can be charged from 0% to 80% in just 56 minutes with a 50 kW DC fast charger. The 7.2 kW AC fast charger available as an option with the car will fully juice up the battery overnight, according to the company.
As per the company, the Nexon EV Max's engine offers 143hp, 250Nm torque. It has 16-inch wheels - all with disc brakes. The car boasts IP67 rated motor and battery pack and 350L boot space.
The add-on feature list covers a smartwatch integration, auto/manual DTC check, setting a limit for charging, monthly vehicle reports, and enhanced drive analytics.
For safety, Nexon EV Max offers ESP, Hill Hold Control, Hill Descent Control, electronic parking brake, all 4 disc brakes. It boasts 30 new features, including leatherette ventilated seats, jewelled control knob, wireless charging, auto dimming IRVM, smart watch integration, and an air purifier.
The car comes with an 8-year 1,60,000 km battery and electric motor warranty.
Tata Motors has claimed that it has sold a total of around 19,000 Nexon EVs in India so far, making it the best-selling electric car in the country. The MAX version aims to further improve its numbers.
Tata Motors had earlier stated that it is planning to invest Rs 15,000 crore in the EV business in the next five years.
Last year, the company raised USD 1 billion in funding from private equity major TPG for EV business, valuing the vertical at USD 9.1 billion.
Tata Motors currently sells three electric models -- Nexon EV, Tigor EV and Xpres-T EV -- in the domestic market.
The company reported 353 per cent growth in its EV sales last fiscal compared to 2020-21.
