Suzlon bags 202MW wind energy project from Waaree Forever Energies
Suzlon will supply and install 64 wind turbines for Waaree Forever Energies' first wind project in Andhra Pradesh.
Executed under the Suzlon DevCo model, the project marks a strategic milestone in both companies' evolution as leading integrated renewable energy solutions players, a company statement said.
According to the statement, Suzlon is powering Waaree Group's maiden wind project in Andhra Pradesh through a 201.6 MW order from Waaree Forever Energies Private Limited (WFEPL), the group's Independent Power Producer (IPP) arm.
As renewable energy projects become larger and more complex, end-to-end execution models like DevCo are emerging as preferred models to enable faster execution, reduce development risks, and achieve greater scalability.
Under the project, Suzlon will install 64 units of its flagship S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs), with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW each in Andhra Pradesh.
Suzlon will deliver its comprehensive EPC offering, covering land acquisition, turbine supply, Balance of Plant (BoP), commissioning, and life-time operations and maintenance services.
Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman, Suzlon Group, said, "This partnership is strategically important as it unites two companies whose growth has mirrored the evolution of India's renewable energy sector. Waaree and Suzlon have been trailblazers in solar and wind, respectively, each building world-class manufacturing ecosystems and establishing a strong global presence".
