'State tenders to be key in RE capacity addition'

"There are multiple routes and one of the primary instruments is going to be the tenders floated by the states," Sarangi said while addressing the session on energy transition at CII India Edge.

New Delhi: Renewable energy addition going forward is not going to be only through implementing agencies but increasingly via states' own tenders, bilateral agreements with commercial and industrial segment and through distributed green projects, ministry of new and renewable energy secretary Santosh Kumar Sarangi said on Thursday.

"There are multiple routes and one of the primary instruments is going to be the tenders floated by the states," Sarangi said while addressing the session on energy transition at CII India Edge.

There is an increasing pattern of states coming up with their own bids and structuring them to suit their requirements, he said.
