Hyundai to launch more electric vehicles in India

ET had earlier in May reported that the company is planning to invest Rs 20,000 crore over the next 10 years in Tamil Nadu to modernize vehicle platforms and expand its presence in the country’s fast-evolving electric vehicle segment.

South Korea's Hyundai Motor Group said on Tuesday it plans to launch more electric vehicles under the Hyundai and Kia brands in India, in a sign that it is bullish on the world's third-largest automobile market.

ET had earlier in May reported that the company is planning to invest Rs 20,000 crore over the next 10 years in Tamil Nadu to modernize vehicle platforms and expand its presence in the country’s fast-evolving electric vehicle segment.

"Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) is in the process of investing Rs 4000 crore to launch half a dozen models by 2028. The first of these models, the Ioniq 5, hit roads earlier this year. The company also sells Kona EV in India," ET had reported.

The company will introduce new electric & ICE vehicles from its factory near Chennai. As a part of Hyundai Motor Group’s long-term strategic vision to promote clean energy, Hyundai will continue to explore future sustainable technologies in the coming years.
