Meet River Indie: The SUV of scooters with a price tag of Rs 1.25 lakh

Bengaluru based EV startup River has launched its first ever electric scooter called Indie.

Dubbed as the SUV of scooters, the Indie comes with a price tag of Rs 1.25 lakh and is now open for pre-order for just Rs 1,250.

Available in Red, Blue and Yellow colours, the scooter comes with five years and 50,000 km warranty.


The River Indie has top speed of 90 km/h and as per its makers can rush from zero to 40 km/h in 3.9 seconds. It comes with three driving modes - Eco, Ride, Rush. It has max torque of 26 Nm and peak power of 6.7 kW (9 bhp). Its 4 kWh battery claims to offer a range of 120 km. The scooter comes with fast charging feature and can be charged up to 80 per cent in five hours, as per its makers.

It has LED twin beam headlights with position lamp while a LED frosted-tube signature is at the rear. Besides, it has LED indicators, hazard light, boot light, and a 6 inch display.

It has Hydraulic suspension and disc brakes in both rear and front. It sports 14" Alloy wheels. Besides, the River Indie has 12L glovebox along with 43L underseat storage. For convenience, the Indie offers Grab Rail, Handlebar, Bag Hook, Foot-pegs, USB Port, and even Reverse Parking Assist.
