Mumbai: Oyster Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd and Jindal Stainless Ltd have announced the part commissioning of a 315.6 MW solar-wind hybrid power project in Agar-Malwa, Madhya Pradesh.

The project, with a total investment of over ₹2,000 crore, includes a ₹132 crore commitment from Jindal Stainless. It spans Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, with around 216 MW of capacity located in Madhya Pradesh and 99 MW in Gujarat. Commissioning is being carried out in phases, beginning with the Madhya Pradesh facility.

Developed by Oyster Renewable, the project combines bifacial solar modules with tracker systems and Suzlon 3.15 MW wind turbines in a co-located hybrid configuration. This integrated approach is aimed at improving power reliability by balancing solar and wind generation, ensuring a steadier supply of renewable energy for industrial use, the companies said.

Once fully operational, the project is expected to help Jindal Stainless reduce carbon emissions by approximately 6.5 lakh metric tonnes annually, supporting its transition towards a cleaner energy mix.
