In addition to these models, Ather Energy is preparing to launch its first family-oriented scooter, the Rizta. Teasers have already been shared, including a picture posted by stand-up comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi. Unlike the performance-oriented design of the Ather 450 series, the Rizta will focus on comfort and practicality. It will feature the largest seat in its segment, making it the largest Ather scooter to date.
The Rizta is expected to offer improved range and performance, possibly due to an upgraded battery and motor configuration. However, the company has not yet made any official announcements regarding these details.
In 2022, a buyer in Tamil Nadu also purchased a Bajaj Dominar 400 worth Rs 2.6 lakh entirely in one-rupee coins. The dealership spent 10 hours tallying the coins, which were transported in a van and unloaded using wheelbarrows. V Boopathi, aged 29, had saved for over three years, exchanging currency notes for one-rupee coins at temples, hotels, and tea stalls, to afford his desired motorcycle.
Initially hesitant about accepting the payment in coins, showroom manager Mahavikranth relented to avoid disappointing Boopathi. He reasoned that banks would levy a Rs 140 commission to count Rs 1 lakh, making it unlikely for them to handle Rs 2.6 lakh in one-rupee coins. Nonetheless, Mahavikranth accommodated Boopathi's aspiration of owning a premium bike.
