Exicom makes India’s first liquid-cooled EV charger modules

The company said the move will strengthen its India manufacturing base while supporting exports to North America and Europe. The modules will initially be used in Tritium’s DC charging portfolio, including its TRI-FLEX ultra-fast DC chargers and DC-FLEX charging systems.
Exicom said liquid cooling addresses one of the key challenges in high-power EV charging — heat. According to the company, nearly 60% of power electronics failures are linked to thermal stress, while a 10°C-15°C increase in temperature can double component failure rates.
Liquid-cooled systems use coolant to transfer heat more efficiently than air-cooled systems and can keep internal temperatures around 10°C lower, Exicom said. The sealed architecture also protects components from dust, moisture and salt air.
Exicom expands high-power charging portfolio
The initial production will primarily cater to customers in North America and Europe. The company plans to subsequently use the technology across its EV charging products for Charge Point Operators, fleets and OEMs in India.Exicom also plans to incorporate liquid-cooled architecture into its flagship Harmony DC chargers over time. This could create a new line of power electronics exports from India.
The company said the technology builds on the liquid-cooled capabilities of Tritium, the global DC fast-charging company acquired by Exicom in 2024.

Globally, liquid cooling has become the architecture of choice for high-power charging. We are bringing this technology to India. Local manufacturing matters because we now own more of that technology ourselves. We can engineer it, improve it and adapt it faster, for our customers here and across the world.”
Hyderabad facility to drive production
Exicom will manufacture the modules at its recently inaugurated Hyderabad Smart Manufacturing Facility.The facility uses automation, digital traceability and specialised testing systems. The company said the plant will support production for both domestic and international markets.
The development also deepens the integration between Exicom and Tritium, with the company combining Tritium's technology with Exicom's manufacturing capabilities to develop and produce EV charging equipment in India.
