Electric vehicle sales were anyway picking up in India, but the West Asia war has made adoption even faster.

Vehicles running on fuels other than petrol and diesel made up a record 40% of all passenger vehicles sold in June, FADA data released earlier this week showed.

An ET analysis of vehicle registrations data shows Odisha, Delhi, Tamil Nadu and Telangana are among the states that led this growth.
