Mumbai, Electric mobility brand Youdha on Monday said it plans to expand its product portfolio with the proposed launch of three new vehicles, including a passenger three-wheeler, as part of its next phase of growth.

The company also unveiled the limited edition of 'EPOD-Bharat', a hand-painted version of its flagship L5 electric passenger three-wheeler.

Available at a starting price of Rs 3.20 lakh, the EPOD has been developed keeping the needs of self-employed drivers and mobility entrepreneurs at its core, offering a combination of range, performance, durability and operating efficiency, the company said.

Youdha said its upcoming launches comprising a passenger three-wheeler and two cargo three-wheelers will cater to both passenger and commercial mobility applications and are expected to feature improved battery technology, faster charging capability, higher driving range, enhanced durability and a stronger focus on driver comfort and fleet economics, it said.

"The market today is far more mature than it was a few years ago. Buyers are evaluating vehicles on range, uptime, charging efficiency, service support and return on investment rather than just upfront price. Our upcoming passenger and cargo products are being developed keeping these evolving requirements in mind," said Ayush Lohia, CEO at Youdha.

The upcoming launches are expected to strengthen Youdha's position across passenger and cargo mobility segments as competition intensifies among established OEMs and new-age EV manufacturers, the company said.

Monthly electric 3W registrations are consistently hovering around the 60,000-75,000-unit mark, making it one of the fastest-growing EV categories in the country, the company said, citing industry estimates.

The segment's growth is being driven by favourable operating economics, rising fuel costs, improved financing availability and increasing acceptance among commercial operators.

Industry estimates suggest that more than two-thirds of three-wheelers sold in India are now electric, making the country the world's largest electric three-wheeler market.

The company intends to strengthen its presence across underpenetrated markets while expanding its sales and service network in regions witnessing rapid EV adoption, it said.

Lohia said he believes the L5 category, particularly passenger carriers and commercial mobility solutions, will remain one of the most attractive opportunities in the EV industry over the next few years.

"...Fleet operators are increasingly migrating from diesel, petrol and even CNG powered vehicles towards electric mobility because the economics make sense. This transition is still in its early stages and offers substantial headroom for growth," he said.
