Kerala: Digitisation and sustainability
Kerala has leveraged BRAP 2024 to streamline business registration, digitise land and tax processes, and simplify environmental clearances. Beyond procedural reforms, the state has actively promoted renewable energy adoption, carbon-neutral gram panchayats, and the rejuvenation of water bodies. These measures reflect a dual focus: making the business environment more efficient while embedding sustainability into local governance.
Tamil Nadu: Industrial efficiency meets environmental oversight
Tamil Nadu has strengthened ease of doing business through single-window clearances, digitised approvals, and land reforms, while implementing solar parks, district-level decarbonization plans, and energy efficiency programs. The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board monitors industrial effluent treatment closely and supports Common Effluent Treatment Plants for pollution-intensive clusters such as tanneries and textiles, ensuring wastewater meets prescribed standards before discharge.

Andhra Pradesh: Digital tools for compliance and transparency
Andhra Pradesh has also leveraged BRAP 2024 to introduce single-window industrial clearances, online land registration, and e-environmental approvals. Its recently expanded Online Consent Management & Monitoring System allows firms to apply for environmental consents digitally and track approvals in real-time, reducing delays and enhancing data transparency between industry and regulators.
The Economic Survey 2026 highlights these efforts as evidence that growth and environmental responsibility can reinforce each other. Streamlined processes reduce bureaucratic friction, while digital and green initiatives ensure compliance, resource efficiency, and long-term sustainability—providing a model for other Indian states aiming to balance development with environmental stewardship.
