Delhi CM Rekha Gupta flags off 300 EV buses, accelerates move to 6,100-strong electric fleet

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta flagged off 300 new electric buses, taking the city’s fleet to 6,100, as part of a major push toward a fully electric public transport system. The move comes amid rising petrol prices, highlighting a shift toward cleaner and more affordable urban mobility. The government also launched an interstate bus service to Ghaziabad and laid the foundation for a new Delhi Transport Corporation. Over ₹24 crore in pending EV subsidies were disbursed to more than 12,800 beneficiaries through a transparent portal.
