New Delhi: A supportive environment for the renewable energy sector is critical, with expectations from the upcoming budget to address the development of carbon markets, energy efficiency and commitment of government funding for some of the emerging sectors, said Rahul Prithiani, senior director & global head, energy and sustainability, Crisil intelligence.

"For emerging technologies like green hydrogen, fostering a more supportive ecosystem is critical... Further, creating demand is key, as the sector is price sensitive," he added.

"The key drivers of this investment would be the power sector, which will contribute nearly 60% of investments," said Prithiani at the CRISIL India Infrastructure Conclave 2025 on Wednesday.

Crisil projects green investments to rise to ₹30.6 lakh crore during 2025-30, a five-fold increase from 2019-24.
