Budget 2024: Govt to come out with document on energy transition pathway

The government of India will release a document on the energy transition pathway, announced Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday while presenting the Budget for 2024-25 in the Lok Sabha. This initiative aims to support pump storage projects providing round-the-clock energy. State-owned enterprises NTPC and BHEL will set up 800 MW super critical thermal power plants for higher efficiency.

"PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana generated remarkable response with 1.8 crore people registering under it," Sitharaman said. This highlights significant public interest in the government's energy initiatives.
