Big green energy bet: Adani group to invest more than ₹2 lakh crore in 5 years in Gujarat

Mumbai: The Adani group will invest more than ₹2 lakh crore in Gujarat over the next five years, chairman Gautam Adani said on Wednesday. The investment is expected to create about 100,000 direct and indirect jobs, he said.

"It is my commitment that I will do my part to contribute to a viksit (developed) Gujarat," Adani said in an address at the Summit.

At the previous summit, the group had announced an investment of ₹55,000 crore by 2025, of which it has already invested ₹50,000 crore.


Most of the investments announced by the Adani group on Wednesday will be in green energy and its infrastructure. The group is constructing a green energy park in Khavda, Kutch - touted as the largest in the world - which will generate 30 GW of renewable energy.

It is also expanding the green supply chain for creating an integrated renewable energy ecosystem. This will include solar panels, wind turbines, hydrogen electrolysers, green ammonia, photovoltaic cells and expansion in copper and cement production.
