The leadership change comes as Switch India, the electric vehicle (EV) arm of Ashok Leyland, looks to maintain its growth momentum while leveraging existing group capabilities. Mani will hold dual responsibilities and is expected to bring operational continuity to the EV business.
“Mahesh has played a pivotal role in shaping the early growth of Switch India, including helping the company achieve EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation) break even in FY25. We thank him for his contributions,” said Dheeraj G Hinduja, chairman, Switch Mobility. “Ganesh Mani brings deep expertise in operations and transformation. We are confident he will steer Switch India toward profitable growth.”
Mani, who joined Ashok Leyland in 2022, is known for driving large-scale operational improvements and efficiency gains. His appointment is expected to foster closer integration with Ashok Leyland’s core business and supply chain, though Switch Mobility will continue to function as a standalone EV brand under the group umbrella.
Switch Mobility is looking to scale up its manufacturing and delivery capabilities to meet growing demand in the electric commercial mobility segment. With a confirmed order book of more than 1,500 buses, the company is aiming to double its revenue in this financial year.
