"We are also exploring investment avenues in Bihar's energy sector. Our plan is to invest around ₹20,000 crore to set up an ultra-supercritical thermal power plant," Pranav Adani said.
He added that the company expects such a massive project to open up at least 12,000 jobs in the pre-commissioning phase - and also lead to around 1,500 skilled jobs during the operational phase.
Adani Enterprises houses the group's incubation projects before they are transferred to operating companies. Adani Power is targeting to double its thermal power capacity to 30.67 GW by 2029-30 from the 15 GW currently.

Adani did not specify the capacity of the power plant it may set up in Bihar but sources said it could be a 1,600 MW (2x800 MW) greenfield ultra-supercritical thermal power plant like the company is building at Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh.
Adani added that in three sectors, logistics, gas distribution, and agri-logistics, Adani group has invested around ₹850 crore, creating 25,000 direct and indirect jobs.
"We are now going to invest another ₹2,300 crore in these sectors. This investment will not only massively increase our warehousing and handling capacity and expand our presence in the EV, city gas distribution, and compressed biogas space but will also generate an additional 27,000 direct and indirect local job opportunities," added Adani.
The group has already started work on its greenfield cement plant at Warisaliganj and now plans to invest another ₹2,500 crore in Bihar to set up a cement manufacturing capacity of 10 MMTPA in multiple phases, creating at least 9,000 direct and indirect jobs in the state.
The Group also plans to invest ₹2,100 crore to manufacture and install over 2.8 million smart meters to automate power-consumption-monitoring in five cities - Siwan, Gopalganj, Vaishali, Saran, and Samastipur - and this will generate at least 4,000 local jobs in this technology segment, Adani said.
