TMK one of the biggest paid preview grossers in UK

LONDON: Farah Khan's Tees Maar Khan became one of the three highest paid preview grossers ever for an Indian film in the UK, its producers claimed today.

The Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif starrer's previews also managed to gross over USD 90,000 in the US, claiming record openings for an Akshay Kumar film in the territory, according to a statement.

In the UK, the film succeeded in grossing a phenomenal 112,251 pounds in preview, it said.

Additionally, the con movie has had one of the highest openings for a Hindi film in the Gulf and experienced the highest opening day for a Hindi film in Australia and Pakistan.

According to the statement, the movie produced by Three's Company, Hari Om Entertainment Company and UTV Motion Pictures, appears to have struck a chord with audiences globally.

In India, the film opened to almost 100 per cent collections at most multiplexes and emerged as the highest opener for Akshay Kumar, Farah Khan and UTV Motion Pictures.

The film is a story of a con man who tricks a village into participating in a huge heist of robbing antiques worth Rs 500 crore rupees from a heavily guarded train.
