MUMBAI: Sridevi’s painting titled Thoughts will go under the hammer at Christie’s , one of the world’s biggest auction houses, for charity.

The price estimated by Christie’s for the painting is an impressive $50,000 (approximately Rs 22 lakh). Says Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor, “The auction for her painting, which happens on May 6, will open at $25,000 and is expected to fetch $50,000. I’m very proud of her and always have been. When she took up painting I knew she would make a success of it.

The money will go to a celebrity charity fund for which other global personalities such as Bill Clinton and Oprah Winfrey are also contributing.

Though Sridevi was reluctant to comment about this development, she did tell a friend that she was nervous after such a high estimation of her painting by the international auction house. Laughs Boney, “I know Sri can do it.”
