Sony Pictures Networks India launches a general entertainment channel in Tamil called Sony Vizha

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) today launched a new Tamil channel called Sony VIZHA.

The channel, which will be general entertainment, will go live in October 2026. The name and logo were revealed on Independence Day through a rendition of Tamizh Thai Vaazhthu performed by children.

Sony VIZHA marks SPNI’s entry into Tamil entertainment with a clear creative proposition: premium content that is deeply rooted in Tamil culture, emotion, language and lived realities.

Vizha means celebration or festival in Tamil. The name reflects the spirit of the channel: a celebration of Tamil stories, talent, music, family, aspiration and popular entertainment that connects with viewers at an emotional level.
