Mumbai Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has acquired the India and subcontinent media rights for the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 for an estimated $3.5-4 million, according to people aware of the development. The event, scheduled in Japan from September 19 to October 4, will be broadcast on Sony Sports Network channels and streamed on Sony LIV.

At the last Asian Games, India recorded its best showing to date with 107 medals. The games, held every four years, feature 41 sports, including 32 Olympic disciplines, along with additions such as mixed martial arts and surfing, and regular fixtures such as cricket, tennis, esports, kabaddi, sepak takraw and kurash. Cricket is expected to be a key attraction for Indian viewers, with both the men's and women's teams in contention for top honours.
