Rajasthani singer gears up to perform for liz hurley

Jodhpur: Rajasthani folk singer gazi khan is looking forward to entertaining british model liz hurley andher husband arun nayar with 'langa' and 'manganiyaar' tunes at a reception in mehrangarh fort here tomorrow.

Khan, who has performed in almost every part of the world and released several albums of folk songs, said tomorrow'sperformance by his 35-member troupe will feature traditionalinstruments like kartaal, khamayacha, morchang, algoza andbhapang as well as the commonly used dholak and dhol.

Hurley and nayar arrived here yesterday to tie the knot a second time according to indian traditions at the umaid bhavanpalace on friday.

Khan's troupe was roped in for the reception to give theguests a feel of the songs sung during rajasthan's royalweddings to seek the blessings of gods for the bride and bridegroom.

The folk artistes, who were hit by the unprecedentedfloods that swept barmer and jaisalmer districts last year,are excited about performing for the celebrity couple, khansaid.

Security tight hai, chai baje ganon sa, aur ek bajebulayoo hai (the security is very tight. Our performance is at6 pm but we were asked to come at 1 pm), he said with a smile.
