Radio Mirchi to operate from Madurai & nine other cities
After establishing itself in 22 cities, FM station Radio Mirchi would soon enter Madurai and plans to operate from nine other cities in the country, a top official said.
"Madurai is the 23rd city in the country we are stepping in and we plan to enter Coimbatore and eight other cities across the nation shortly," Radio Mirchi's station head (Madurai) L Krishna Kumar said.
The FM station run by Entertainment Network (India) Ltd's (ENIL) will provide programmes that are of particular interest to the residents of Madurai.
"We will use Madurai slang to entertain the people". The radio signals will be available in 80 sq km area, he said.
He said surveys have been conducted in the city to know the likes and dislikes of the residents.
The radio station had state-of-the art facilities for live shows and to store programmes for three years, Radhamanalan, programme executive of the station said.
It would come up with a diverse mix of shows appealing to various segments of listeners, Krishna Kumar said adding "flexibility, adaptability and suitability for a modern and active life are the strengths of the radio"
Radio Mirchi would operate round-the-clock with programmes including, the best of contemporary music, city happenings, Kollywood gossip and special interviews, he added.
